Joyce R. (Reynolds) Grover

Joyce R. Grover, a longtime resident of Plattsburgh, NY; recent years of Dutchess County, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023 at the Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Hopewell in Fishkill, NY; at the age of 102. She was born June 4, 1921 in Philadelphia, NY, daughter of the late Lawrence & Anna (Owens) Reynolds. Joyce attained a Bachelors Degree in Teaching from Plattsburgh State University.

On August 7, 1944, in Philadelphia, NY, she married Dr. Ralph N. Grover, who predeceased her on November 20, 1997, after 53 years of marriage.

Joyce was a huge supporter of Plattsburgh State University, which was where her husband taught for many years. She was a member of the Faculty Wives of Plattsburgh State University.

She very much enjoyed doing all sorts of crafts; quilting, sewing, and especially loved gardening. Joyce won numerous awards for her crafts and quilts at the Clinton County Fair. She was a member of the Kent De Lord Historical House in Plattsburgh.

Joyce is survived by her two sons, Michael (Marian) Grover and Douglas (Candace) Grover. She is also survived by her two grandsons, Justin Grover and Ryan Grover; and one great-grandson, Nolan Grover.
