James Douglas Melton, Jr.

James D. Melton Jr. 36 of Schenectady, NY was called home to be with his Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 13, 2022. He was born in Carmel, NY on September 25, 1986, to Eleanor Perry and Douglas Melton Sr. James often called “Doug” graduated of Midpark Highschool in Middleburgh Heights, OH. And went on to obtain his master’s degree in marketing from Washington Jefferson University.

Following graduation, James began his career with IGT Global Solutions starting as a Field Service Technician and later promoted to Business Analyst collaborating with teams across the United States and Canada. James than took on the role in Business Intelligence working as a Senior Marketing Specialist providing analytical support to the New York site.

James leaves to mourn his memory, his parents Pastor Samuel L. and Eleanor Perry of Poughkeepsie, NY, Father James Douglas Melton Sr of North Carolina, Grandmother Ruth Bollinger. Life Partner Samantha Short. Brothers, Samuel L Perry III (Yoselin) of Albany, NY, and Alonzo Melton of North Carolina. Sisters, Ashely (Leonard) Melton, Taylor Carver of Arlington, VA, Jalicia Perry, Brittany Melton, and Ja’Lisa Shaw both of NC. His surrogate children Nyla Alexandria and Aleah Brielle Jackson and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Uncles, Aunts and Cousins and Co-Workers who absolutely adored him.

James was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Robert Bollinger, and James & Martha Melton.

His Family will receive Friends on Friday, November 18 from 4-8pm at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, New York. A Second Viewing will be on Saturday, November from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at the Springfield Baptist Church, 8 Church Street (Mattie Cooper Square), Beacon, New York; where a Home-Going Service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon. Entombment will be Monday, November 21 at 12:00 Noon in the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Community Mausoleum, Poughkeepsie, New York.
