Obituary

James M. Cotter, Jr., 58, of Beacon, passed away suddenly on Sunday April 10th, 2022.  Jim was born in Peekskill, NY on April 14, 1963.

Jim graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Genetic Biology and later went on to work as Technical Project Manager for Astrix Group in New Jersey.  He was very involved in his community and was loved and respected by his family, friends and co-workers. 

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Lape of Red Hook, NY; his father, Mike Cotter (Susan) of Searsport, ME. He also leaves his brother Tim Cotter (Gail) of Roxbury, CT; his sisters Doreen Stone of Red Hook, NY, and Katherine Cotter of Philadelphia, PA; his longtime partner, Sean Hastings of Hartford, CT. He leaves behind his beloved nephews, Timothy, David and Matthew, and beloved niece, Shannon; his grand-nephews, grand-niece, and host of dear friends.  

His Family will receive friends on Friday, April 15th from 5-8pm at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a service of remembrance will be offered.
