Isabel Rivera

Isabel Rivera, a longtime resident of the Bronx, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving daughter on March 9, 2023; she was 91 years old. She was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Cruz Rivera and Maria de Jesus Fontanez. When she was 14 year of age, she came to the States and settled in the Bronx.

Isabel worked for many years as a seamstress in various factories in the Bronx, until she retired. She thoroughly enjoyed to knit, crochet, cook, and especially sing; she loved to sing.

Isabel is survived by her daughter Linette Lugo and her partner Rafaelina. She was predeceased by her two sons, Michael Alpino and Juan Jose Garcia. Isabel is also survived by three grandchildren Michael Alpino Jr., Tania Alpino and Katerina Alpino; seven great granchildren and two great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, & friends. She was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Her Family will receive Friends on Friday, March 17th from 5-9 PM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a Funeral Service will be held 10am, Saturday, March 18th followed by interment to Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Route 9W, Newburgh, NY.
