He was born Jorge A. Guzman on August 11, 1949 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, son of Milagros (Arguelles) Guzman and the late Gregorio Guzman. When he emigrated to the United States, he Americanized his name as ‘George’.

Aside from his work, George enjoyed time at the Off-Track Betting, the horse races and playing his numbers. He also was an avid Sci-Fi fan, enjoyed reading of UFOs and Sasquatch.

As a teen, George was a boxer, having competed in several Golden Glove bouts before having to retire from it due to an injury. But his love of sports continued throughout his whole life; being a big fan of boxing, football, basketball and the Mets.

Guzman Jr; Brenda Guzman and her partner Kenneth Eller; his brother Gregorio Guzman and his wife Carmen, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends, especially Lydia Flores.

He also leaves behind his beloved dog Snoopy. He loved his animals, dogs and birds; he was predeceased by Princess, Scooter, Chloe, Spooky I, Spooky II, Rosita, Gamara, and his birds Piki & Pika. George thoroughly enjoyed his time with his animals, and even feeding the squirrels too.
