Colin Johnstone (Dickson) Colquhoun

Colin J. Colquhoun, a resident of Beacon, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY; he was 70 years old. He was born Colin Johnstone Dickson on January 9, 1952 in Scotland; son of the late William Dickson and Marjory Colquhoun; later his mother changed his name to Colin Johnstone Colquhoun; for his step-father was the late George P. Colquhoun.

Colin proudly served in the United States Army from August 24, 1970, and was honorably discharged on March 20, 1972.

He worked for many years at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care Medical Center Castle Point Campus, Wappingers Falls, NY; he was a beloved maintenance worker; a simple man.

Colin is survived by a host of friends, most of which he worked with at the Castle Point VA Hospital, he will be greatly missed and always remembered. He was also survived by three daughters: Dana Hiner, Jayme Roof and Nikki Gajowski; his five grandchildren, and his sister Moira-Jean Hanson.

A Graveside Service to honor his Life & Military Service is being planned for 11:30am, Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the Wappingers Falls Rural Cemetery, 174-208 W. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY. The United States Army Honor Guard will conduct military honors, all are welcome to come and pay respects and thanks to Colin for his service.
