Bernice (Winterfeld) Litcofsky

Bernice Litcofsky, 89 years old and a 20-year resident of Poughkeepsie, died at her home on March 6, 2022. She was born in the Bronx, NY on July 6, 1932, daughter of the late Sam & Anna (Schwefelgeist) Winterfeld. She wed David Litcofsky on February 16, 1952 and was happily married for 23 years until his death on September 11, 1975.

Bernice worked as a purchasing agent at Lehman College in the Bronx for over 15-years, until she retired. She was a member of Temple Beth-El in Poughkeepsie, NY. Bernice enjoyed needlepoint and playing Mahjong. She loved ALL her grandchildren, especially her great-grandchildren.

Bernice is survived by her two sons: Mark Litcofsky and his wife Amy, and Barry Litcofsky and his wife Tricia. Her four grandchildren: Danielle Litcofsky, Adam Litcofsky, Kevin Litcofsky and his wife Kinji Sathi, Kaitlyn Poepsel and her husband Tim; and five great-grandchildren Clark Litthi, Oliver Litthi, Julian Litcofsky, Leo Poepsel and Harriet Poepsel, also survive her. 

Along with beloved husband and her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her brother Edward Winterfeld.

Her Family & Friends will gather for a Graveside Service on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 3PM at the Sharon Gardens Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, NY. The Family will be observing shiva at the home of Mark and Amy Litcofsky at 4 Sycamore Dr., Beacon, NY on Thursday 3/10 from 5-8pm (shiva minyan at 6pm); Saturday 3/12 from 6-9pm (shiva minyan at 8pm); Sunday 3/13 from 2-6pm (shiva minyan at 4:30pm).
