Theologia Zias

Theologia Zias, April 11, 1954 – August 16, 2011 Zias, Theologia died Tuesday August 16 at her home in Newburgh, NY. She was born in New York City on April 11, 1954, the daughter of the late Arthur Steve Zias and Helen Turpu Zias. Theologia’s family and friends knew her as Theo or Thea. She attended public schools in Beacon, NY and lived in Newburgh and Cornwall, NY for 30 years. Thea will always be remembered for sharing her beautiful laugh. She cared deeply for her nieces and nephews, loved receiving current photographs and enjoyed monthly updates from her sister. You could always count on receiving birthday and holiday cards from Thea. Thea is survived by her long time companion, Hector Claudio of Newburgh, NY, her loving sister, Joanne Zias Ghanem of Mullica Hill, NJ, her nephew and godson, Peter Hurliman of Glenham, NY, her brother, Steve Zias of Beacon, NY, three nieces and two additional nephews. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, August 23, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A private memorial service in Newburgh, NY is also planned for a later date.
