Stephen Garo

Stephen R. Garo of Hilton Head, SC, formerly of Beacon, entered into rest October 18, 2011 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, he was 61. Born November 23, 1949 in Beacon, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley E. and Olive Greene Garo. Stephen was a former Correction Officer at Fishkill Correctional Facility, a graduate of Beacon High School, a member of Southern Dutchess Country Club and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Survivors include a brother Glenn P. Houghtalin and his wife Pat of Hopewell Junction, a sister Dawn R. Crimi of Beacon, as well as several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held Wednesday October 26, at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery, Beacon. Pastor Tony Beck will officiate.
