Samuel Lunsford

Lunsford, Samuel Linwood III of Beacon, entered into rest Monday, November 7, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 78. Born in Peekskill, December 7, 1937 he was the son of Samuel L. and Martha Barksdale Lunsford II. Samuel was a retired Metal Worker for Green Fuel Economizer, Beacon. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran during Korea, and a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife Levisa M. Williamson Lunsford who survives him at home, four children, Mark Lunsford of Beacon, Alesia Lunsford of Beacon, Alane Lunsford of Albany, Jack M. Lunsford and his wife Jamie of Highland, two sisters, Mary McNair and Marilyn Lunsford, 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Samuel Linwood Lunsford IV, four brothers, Richard, Mavin, Berkley and James Lunsford, three sisters, Ann, Dolores and Martha Jean. Visitation will be held Friday, November 11, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Springfield Baptist Church 8 Mattie Cooper Square, Beacon, where at 11:00 AM services will take place. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
