Monroe, Samuel ‘Sam’ Robert Sr. of Beacon, entered into rest, Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, Poughkeepsie. He was 75. Born September 14, 1940 in Cold Spring, he was the son of the late John and Alta Fehlman Monroe. Sam was a retired Machine Operator, for Chemprene, Beacon, and former employee of Tuck Tape, and Brandley’s Dye works, Beacon. He was a life member of Slater Chemical, Glenham, and a member of several bowling leagues, as well as an avid golfer. He was married to Judith A. Robinson, Mrs. Monroe survives at home, in addition to his wife, he is survived by his three son’s: Samuel R. Monroe Jr. (Kim Bankowitz), Timothy Monroe (Lisa) and Shane Monroe all of Beacon, his two brothers Joe and Wayne, his sister Marlene, eight grandchildren, Christopher (Carolena), Elizabeth, Zachary, Lyndsay, Marilyn, Aubry, Jessica and Dale, four great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Christian, Kassi-Ellen and Adalyn-Rose, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Anne Baylash, and his two brothers, James ‘Mort’ and Gary Monroe. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:30 pm at Libby Funeral Home Inc, 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY 12508, where, at 7:30 pm services will take place. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corp. PO Box 54, 1 Arquilla Dr. Beacon, NY 12508.
