Roy J. McNally

Roy Jacob McNally, a resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on December 29, 2023 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center at the age of 50. He was born in Nyack, NY on March 25, 1973, son of Gaynor Iris (née Babcock) McNally, and the late Peter John McNally.

During his youth, Roy was involved in Cub Scouts. He then graduated from Cornwall Central High School in Cornwall, NY, Class of 1992, where he was part of the junior varsity wrestling team and played trombone in the band. Roy enjoyed music and the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He was also a decade-long member of the American Legion Post 37 of Poughkeepsie, NY.

Along with his beloved mother, Gaynor McNally, Roy is survived by his two brothers, Peter McNally and Michael McNally, and two sisters, Marie Lawson and Kari Ann McNally. He is also survived by his maternal aunt and uncle, Lisa and Artie Babcock, his paternal aunt and uncle, Millie and James McNally, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Roy’s family will remember his life in a private memorial ceremony at a later date. They have asked in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made in Roy’s name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.
