Roland 'Danny' George Russell

Roland George Russell, or as he was affectionately known as, ‘Danny', went Home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2020 at the Kindred Hospital in Wayne, NJ; he was 66 years old. Roland ‘Danny' was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies on May 18, 1954, son of the late Winifred Eugenie (Smith) Russell. Danny worked as a sheet metal fabricator for over 45-years in NY and NJ; recently employed with Coordinated Metals in Carlstadt, NJ. On October 26, 2002 in Beacon, NY, he married Odilia Dawkins, who survives him at home. Danny's passion was music; he spent his youth and early adult life as a DJ. He thoroughly enjoyed listening to music, he loved attending different music festivals and shows. Along with his wife of 18-years, Danny is survived by his 4 children: Rosalind Lucien, and her husband Ronald; Roland G. Russell Jr; Kyra & Kendra Russell. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren: Noelle, Jeremy and Nicholas Lucien, Genesis Benedith, Jahniyah Russell, Faith Russell, Sean Williams Russell, Neveah Russell, and Israel Brown Russell; and 1 great-grandchild, Na'Lear Lateef Jones. And he was also survived by two sisters. His Family &Friends will gather on Saturday, December 12th from 9:00am to 10:00am at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a service will be held at 10:00AM followed by interment at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY. In light of the recent pandemic occurrence and due to restrictions; social distancing and mask-wearing must be observed inside the funeral home and at the cemetery.
