John Whitson

Whitson, John H. of Beacon, entered into rest, Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. He was 67. Born in Beacon, NY, May 26, 1949, he was the son of the late Herbert and Ruth Baker Whitson. John was a Nuclear Security Officer with Indian Point Power Plant, Indian Point, NY, he graduated from Beacon High School, Beacon, and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving two tours in Vietnam. Survivors include: a brother, Andrew Whitson of FL, formerly of Beacon, a sister, Nancy Handley and her husband Albert of Hartford, NY, his close friends, Dominic Virtuoso and his wife Maribel of Beacon, a god-daughter, Clarissa Virtuoso and his sister-in-law, Georgia Whitson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
