John Joseph Ryan

John Joseph Ryan, 86, a longtime Beacon and Fishkill resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was born in Blauvelt, NY on October 25, 1933, son of the late James & Elsie (Amann) Ryan. John served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1956-1957, received an honorable discharge. John was a devout communicant of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill; never missed a Mass, especially the Daily Mass during the week. For over 40-years, he built homes; he had his own construction company, Granite Homes in Fishkill, until he retired. John was avid NASCAR fan, and loved tending his garden. John is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Caroline (Whitney) Ryan; his two children, John Whitney Ryan and Lisa Marie Ryan; and his two grandchildren, Raven Ryan and Kyle Ryan. He is also survived by his two brothers and one sister: Peter Ryan, Charles ‘Mickey' Ryan, Patricia Mauro, and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Timothy Ryan and one sister, Jane Glazer. A Private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, followed by a private interment at the convenience of his family.
