John S. 'Johnny' Manetta Jr.

September 19, 1957 — February 26, 2021

On Friday, February 26, 2021, John Manetta, Jr., loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away. He was 63. Born September 19, 1957, in Beacon, NY to Martha (Wilson) and John Manetta, Sr. A lifelong Beacon resident, he owned his own construction business, worked for National Biscuit, the Tallix Foundry, and the MTA. In 1978 he became father to John Michael Manetta. "Little" Johnny survives at home in Cape Coral, Florida with his wife Ashley. John had a passion for life, making the most of every day he could, celebrating 11 years of sobriety. An avid outdoorsman, John could often be found in a tree stand or casting a line, earning the name Johnny Brown from all the brown trout he caught. Another pleasure he found was at the casinos, spending time with friends and family defying the odds. But the greatest joy he found was bringing happiness to everyone he encountered with his humor, infectious smile and zest for life. He was very proud that his life experiences allowed him to help others live their lives to the fullest. John was preceded by his parents in 1999, sister Marie in 2020 and niece Meghan in 2021. In addition to his son, John is survived by his sisters Corrine of Bloomingburg, Terri (Timothy) of Beacon, brother Bobby (Beth) of Hopewell Junction, granddaughters Rylee (Colton) and Preslee of Cape Coral, great-granddaughter Raegen, and great-grandson Clayton. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Joseph (Shamika), Jessica (Colin), Jake (Denise), Wayne (Jennifer), Christina, Falon (Adam), Timothy (Regina), and Ashley and several great-nieces and nephews. His Family & Friends will gather to Celebrate His Life on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 3-5pm at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, where a prayer service will be held at 4pm. Interment will be private at the convenience of his family.
