John Burke

Burke, John T. Jr., of Hobe Sound, FL, formerly of Beacon, entered into rest Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in Hobe Sound, FL. He was 83. Born December 10, 1930 in Bayone, NJ, he was the son of the late John T. Sr. and Margaret Dolan Burke. John was a retired Tech Aid for The Texaco Research Center, Glenham, he was a former Chief and member of Slater Chemical Fire Company, Glenham as well as a United States Marine Corp. Veteran, serving from 1950-1952 and served in Korea. Survivors include, his wife Anne Marie Burke at home, five children; Jack Burke of Harrisville, NY, Kevin Burke of Cold Spring, Jerry Burke of Glenham, Susan Murphy of Arlington, MA., and Robert Burke of Woodbury, CT., A brother Jimmy Burke of FL, and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Joachim’s Church 51 Leonard St. Beacon. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Beacon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Slater Chemical Fire Company 76 Old Glenham Rd.
