Howard Fleming

November 27, 1927 — March 15, 2013

Howard "Bud" Fleming passed away March 15th, 2013 at home with his loving family by his side. Bud lived in Cold Spring for most of his life, born in Beacon on 11-27-27 to the late William and Edith Fleming. Survived by his loving wife Josie (Bocchino)Fleming, his son Ralph (Teri) Fleming, daughters JoAnn (Anthony) Nastasi and Rose (Jim) Heusinger. His cherished grandchildren who he spent as much time with as possible: Krista and Brittney Fleming, Aaron (Larry) Brooks, Ryan and Olivia Nastasi, Joseph and Brian Heusinger, and two great grandchildren, Colin and Brayden Brooks whom he adored. Bud is also survived by his younger sister Beverly Dworkin, predeceased by 3 brothers (Ralph, Harold and Robert) and 5 sisters (May, Marie, Clara, Helen and Lil). Bud also has many nieces and nephews on the Fleming and Bocchino sides of the family, and he spent years entertaining them at family gatherings with stories and pranks (He loved a good prank). Bud was a lifelong carpenter, and worked his trade for too many to count, always available to family and friends when in need. He retired as a Maintenance Administrator at Craig House in Beacon, NY, but never really stopped working. Bud had been suffering with emphysema over the years, and pneumonia almost took him from us over 2 years ago, but he was always a fighter. Those two years were a true gift from God for all of us. Those of you that knew him would understand completely that life inside the house on oxygen was not for him - he was always outside, hunting, fishing, but mostly working on things for his family and friends. He was a "jack of all trades", but where he differed from most was that he mastered all of them. He could fix anything, and he will be deeply missed by us all. It is a blessing that he passed so peacefully, now he can rest and breathe easily again... We love you Dad. Our family would like to thank Dr. Ligenza and Penny Lou Lyons and the entire Hospice Staff for their excellent care and loving support to our father.
