Hilda Medina

Medina, Hilda M. of Newburgh formerly of Puerto Rico, Elmira and Beacon, entered into rest Monday, February 4, 2013 at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation Center, Highland, NY. She was 88. Born April 4, 1924 in Yabucoa, PR she was the daughter of the late Justiniano and Catalina Alicea Montanez. Mrs. Medina was a homemaker, she enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, crocheting, cooking, she was a devoted Catholic, practicing her religion, which included saying the rosary everyday. She was totally devoted to her family. Survivors include her husband of 72 + years Jose Medina, at home, seven children, Jose Medina (Linda) of Lowman, NY, Reinaldo Medina (Patricia) of Clifton Park, Eneida Mendez (Luis) of Newburgh, Hector Medina (Maggie) of Beacon, Lourdes Medina of New Windsor, Lucy Yanchowsky (David) of Wallkill, and Roberto Medina of Houston, TX. Six brothers and sisters. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family members. She was predeceased by a son Juan Medina who died January 14, 1999. Visitation will be held today from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY, Rosary services will take place during the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday January 8, at 11:00 am at St. John’s Church, Beacon. Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Beacon.
