Elizabeth Jane L. Minkowski

     Elizabeth Jane L. Minkowski, a longtime Fishkill resident, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation; at the age of 78. She was born in Mount Vernon, NY on November 27, 1945, daughter of the late Martin & Mary (Lynch) Shortt.

     On May 28, 1967 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Mount Vernon, NY, she married William Kingman Minkowski; who predeceased her after 48-years of marriage, on April 1, 2016.

     Elizabeth worked as a facility clerk for NY Telephone in White Plains, NY, for several years until retiring on July 14, 1971. She also worked as a secretary for several local dentist offices.

     Elizabeth was a member of Wappingers Falls Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, until they closed; she was also a member of the Columbiettes at her home parish in Mount Vernon, and a former Girl Scout leader. Elizabeth enjoyed reading and bowling, and was avid WWF/WWE wrestling fan.

     Elizabeth is survived by her three children: Martin William Minkowski of Redlands, CA; Alison L. Richards and her husband Jerome of Pleasant Valley, NY; Brian Kingman Minkowski of Fishkill, NY. She cherished her three grandchildren: Jerome Richards Jr., Amira & Amari Richards.

     Along with her husband Willliam, she was predeceased by her brother Michael Shortt.

     Her Family will receive Friends on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 1-5PM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, NY, where a prayer service will be offered, followed by a private cremation.
