Arlene J. Matteis

Arlene J. Matteis, formerly of the Bronx, recently of Beacon, NY, passed away peacefully the evening of her 84th birthday on February 9, 2021. She was born in the Bronx, NY on February 9, 1937, daughter of the late Anthony & Helen (Zulkowski) Vairo. On August 25, 1957 at St. Athanasius Roman Catholic Church in the Bronx, NY, she married Jack I. Matteis, who predeceased her on July 16, 2016. Arlene truly loved the simple things in life; she enjoyed playing bingo, trivia, her card-parties, and shopping. Arlene is survived by her three children: Donna Tassio; Jack A. Matteis and his wife Carolina; Andrea Matteis-Mazzulli and her husband Gene. She leaves behind also her five grandchildren: Mark, Nicholas, Nina, Gabriella, and Jack C. Matteis. She is also survived by her two brothers: Kenneth Vairo and Stephen Vairo. Her Family will gather to remember her Life on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 4-8PM at the LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, where a prayer service will be offered at 7PM.
