Regina McArthur

McArthur, Regina Helen ‘Jean’, of Beacon entered into rest Saturday, May 25, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 82.
Born May 16, 1931 in Beacon, she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Helen M. Way Heady.
Regina was a Corrections Officer from 1956 to 1981 for Matteawan State Hospital, which later became Fishkill Correctional Facility. After retirement, she became a Teacher’s Aide for Beacon City Schools at Rombout Middle School and Beacon High School.
Regina was a very active member at The First Presbyterian Church of Beacon, a member of NYS Security and Law Enforcement Retiree’s Chapter 82. She was also an avid Bowler and one of the top woman bowlers in Dutchess County.
Survivor’s include two sons: Keith McArthur and his wife Dorothy of Fishkill, and Scott McArthur and his wife Lenore of Rockaway, NJ, six grandchildren: Keith Jr., Ryan, Andrew, Jeremy, Christopher, and Grace McArthur, six great grandchildren: Mandi, Isobel, Connor, Kalem, Lily, and Logan McArthur, two sisters: Barbara Haight of Beacon, and Vicki Coughlin of Beacon, and one brother: Charles ‘Butch’ Heady of Fishkill, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband Stanton Berkley McArthur.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY.
Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, May 29, at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Beacon. Pastor Ben Larson-Wolbrink will officiate.
Burial will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Beacon 50 Liberty St. Beacon, NY 12508
