George Tenbrock

George A. Tenbrock, 77, a life-long Staatsburg resident, passed away on February 11, 2019 at his home. He was born on April 20, 1941 in Rhinebeck, NY, son of the late Malcolm & Gertrude (nee Winstanley) Tenbrock.

George was employed most of his life as a lithographer and pressman, working for many years at Hamilton Reproductions and Merchant’s Press in Poughkeepsie. He was a true renaissance man with many interests and expertise in cabinetry, carpentry, automobile repair and restoration, landscape painting, and music. His true passion was playing his guitar and pedal steel guitar in several well-known bands in the Hudson Valley for over 40 years. Many family memories were made throughout the years with the focal point being his playing at various venues and the many practice and jam sessions with the band and friends. George enjoyed passing his wide and deep knowledge on to his children and grandchildren, who will be forever grateful for his insight and guidance.

George is survived by his wife Sharon (Way) Tenbrock, who compassionately cared for his well-being and was his rock. He is also survived by his sons Jody Tenbrock of Naples, FL and Gary Tenbrock of Panama City, FL; his daughter Joanne Kilmer of Murphy, NC; his sisters Rosemary Lamadore of Clinton Hollow, NY and Karen Palmatier of Hyde Park, NY; a step-son Justin O’Keefe; and his 5 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren.

George was predeceased by his two brothers Edward and Carl Tenbrock, and one sister Mae Holt.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the LIBBY FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 55 Teller Avenue, Beacon, NY 12508. A Private Gathering of Family & Friends will be held at a later date. To offer condolences, please visit: www.www.libbyfuneralhome.com
