Charles McGowan

McGowan, Charles J. 82 of Catskill, NY passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Columbia Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born December 9, 1932, he was the son of Charles and Caroline McGowan.
Charles was a proud Teamster Union retiree. He proudly served his country with the Marine Corp. during the Korean War.
Charles was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ruth McGowan, his loving children and their spouses, Debra and Scott Conley of Kerhonkson, Susan and Fred Barton of Mahopac, Linda McGowan and her fiance Don of Beacon, Joanne and Ralph Johnson of Glenham, Nancy Shea of Hyde Park, Michael and Laura McGowan of Millbrook, Joseph and Dawn McGowan of Hyde Park, his loving grandchildren, Scott, Melissa, Jessica, Shane, Jeromy, Keri, Christopher, Timmy, James, Branden, Michael and Amelia, his loving great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Alex and Ariel, his siblings, Maureen, Patricia and Richard.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Bobby and Billy McGowan, Elaine McGowan and Anna O’Brien. his grandson, Jon Henion and Aunt Anna.
Visitation will be held, Friday, August 14, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave. Beacon, NY.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to, National Kidney Foundation at https://www.kidney.org
