In all the times I’ve been in her presence my memories are of love, hugs, kisses and her uncanny way of knowing everything that going on in my life. She was always current, always interested, always listening. What a gift! We will pray for her. Aunt Mary was a very, very special person. May God receive her and may God bless you all!

We are terribly sorry to hear of such a bright vibrant light leaving us. Aunt Mary always brought out the fun and smiles and our memories of her will always be cherished. She will be missed by many as she touched the hearts of all in her path.

A simply amazing person. A great daughter-in-law to my parents and a wonderful sister-in-law and good friend. She had the ability to be close with everyone and never let you down. Although she was of the Catholic faith and we were Jewish it never entered into our relationship. She just fit right in. How do I say good bye to my good friend for over 45 years.

We are all so sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. We remember her with affection and love. Our happiest memories were growing up in Brooklyn and the two families meeting at Mary Ann and Joe’s apartment. We will miss you Mary. Rest in peace.

We were so sad to read about Mary in the paper. My Mom and I talked about her with fond memories. Your mother was a beautiful person. We are thinking of you.

My mom was the heart of our family, she filled everyday with nothing but care and concern for all of us and always put herself last. She was selfless and would give her last dollar to a stranger no matter how much she may have needed it. She dedicated her life to us…cared for my brother Steve, making sure his needs were met and he had company during the quiet times as she watched movies into the wee hours of the night with him when he couldn’t sleep. She and my dad sat in their living room watching their daily tv shows, even her soap opera which dad now watches alone. Mom loved my little girls beyond what most grandparents do and would do anything for them. She spoiled Mia rotten and would get caught sitting on the bench up the street eating ice cream with her before dinner. She took Mia to ballet class for years and watched her dance with such joy. Mia was her first love and they were inseperable for the past 13 years we lived in this house. When Emmy was born, mom had found that special love again and was with this little angel, playing with her baby dolls, every free moment she had. Nothing could stop my mom from spoiling these girls and she loved them so much. Emmy was with my mom when she had the stroke and all that goes through my mind is how my mom was probably more worried about the baby than what was happening to herself… Having my mom’s sisters and brothers race here to spend her final days with her and make sure she had a beautiful send off means the world to us and I will be forever grateful. Her family was her life and I am forever touched that she recievd such love and kindness from everyone, just as she gave to us all over the years. I am broken hearted and our family now has a huge void that can never be filled. I love you Mommy and will always hear your voice telling silly stories and laughing with me and my beautiful girls who love their Nanny more than words can say. Thank you everyone for your support and outpouring of love these past 2 weeks. My mom must be smiling down on us, wishing she was still here to make sure we are alright. I miss you so much Mom! I told Daddy this morning how very much we miss and love you both and haven\’t had a single day pass without tears at some point. Our hearts are broken and not hearing you next door as I go downstairs to take care of Steve, looking at an empty couch and chair just feels like it did the very day you each left for Heaven. We love and ask you to protect not just us but Mia and Emmy who loved Nanny and Pappa Hodge very very much. Everyday my heart will break over and over until we all find ourselves together again someday. We love you guys so much! ??
